The beautiful new two-volume edition of “The Origins of Totalitarianism,” published by The Folio Society in 2022, includes Hossack’s photograph of Natum Gutman’s 1937 poster.
Hannah Arendt (1906–1975) was one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century. More than 70 years ago, she published her ground-breaking study of how the Nazi and Soviet regimes came to power.
