While photographing Vilhelm Hammershøi’s Copenhagen,
Leslie Hossack met with Annette Rosenvold Hvidt to discuss her new book
Vilhelm Hammershøi: On the Trail of the Open Picture.
Rosenvold Hvidt, art historian and art intermediary at the
Danish National Gallery, co-authored the book with Gertrud Oelsner,
art historian and director of The Hirschsprung Collection.
This highly acclaimed volume, published in 2018, is a wide-ranging and
definitive examination of Hammershøi’s work, unlikely to be surpassed.
